The client is a leading health and fitness brand offering a comprehensive wellness experience through both online and offline platforms. Their services include fitness workouts, mental wellness programs, healthcare solutions, nutrition guidance, and medical consultations.

As one of the early adopters of online fitness solutions, the brand gained significant traction during the COVID-19 pandemic with its virtual fitness offerings. Additionally, it operates a chain of 130+ fitness centers across India. In FY22, the brand achieved over 34% revenue growth, reaching ₹216 crore, further strengthening its position in the fitness industry.

The Objective

The primary goal for a leading fitness brand was to increase traffic to its Google Business Profiles, which play a crucial role in local discovery and customer engagement. In addition to this core objective, the campaign also aimed to:

  • Improve local search visibility across multiple fitness center locations
  • Increase website visits originating from local search
  • Boost search impressions to strengthen overall brand presence in Google results

The Challenge

With over 200 fitness centers operating across India, the fitness brand faced the challenge of generating consistent inquiries and footfall across all its locations. Given that Google is a dominant platform for local research and decision-making, there was a significant opportunity to optimize Google Business Profiles to drive local conversions.

The key challenge was implementing a scalable, location-specific SEO strategy that could ensure each center’s profile was optimized for visibility—ultimately increasing inquiries, engagement, and walk-ins through Google search and maps.

The Solution

After identifying the key challenges, Infidigit developed a comprehensive local SEO strategy to optimize the fitness brand’s visibility across all locations. The strategy centered on three major focus areas:

1. Google Business Profile Listing Audit

Infidigit began with a full audit of the brand’s Google Business Profiles (GBP) to uncover inconsistencies and missed optimization opportunities. Key issues identified included:

  • Pinning precise location markers on Google Maps
  • Refining service area settings
  • Verifying and correcting business hours
  • Assigning accurate website URLs per location
  • Addressing user queries and updating information accordingly
  • Uploading high-quality photos and videos provided by the brand
  • Publishing regular posts about events, offers, and updates
  • Creating a review collection strategy to enhance keyword-rich content and local trust
  • Optimizing business descriptions with keyword-focused, location-specific content

3. Local Citation Building

Citations—mentions of the brand across trusted local directories—were used to improve online authority and local SERP performance. Infidigit followed a structured approach:

  • Conducted a citation analysis to assess existing presence
  • Cleaned up inconsistent citations to ensure NAP consistency
  • Identified new citation opportunities
  • Built over 100+ citations per location using authoritative general and niche fitness directories (e.g., Justdial, Sulekha, Yelp)

These citations helped Google recognize the brand as legitimate and trustworthy, strengthening its presence across all targeted regions.

Within nine months of implementation (May 2021 to February 2022), the fitness brand saw significant growth in local visibility:
